This highly palatable, cereal-grain-free, low sugar and starch, ‘Non-Heating’ feed provides essential micronutrients and digestive aids without excess calories. Keeping sugar and starch low helps maintain healthy hindgut function, especially when chewing ability declines with age.

Senior Lite Feed Balancer includes key nutrients to support mobility, such as the recommended 10g of glucosamine per 500kg horse per day, plus the building blocks for hyaluronic acid (HA) and chondroitin which are important for joint health. It also contains high levels of manganese, vitamin C, methionine, and sulphur for cartilage, tendon, and muscle support, along with antioxidants like vitamins A, C, and E for joint and cell protection.

Protected probiotic yeast supports healthy digestion and gut balance, while prebiotics benefit older horses on restricted or poor grazing. When fed daily, there’s usually no need for additional vitamin or mineral supplements, other than salt and/or electrolytes for sweating horses.

This balancer provides all essential micronutrients for older good doers at rest or in light to medium work. Research at the TopSpec Equine Centre shows it will not promote weight gain when fed as part of a calorie-controlled diet. It’s also beneficial for anxious or recovering horses, or after antibiotic or worming treatments.
