It is suitable for use according to the duration and intensity of work and may be fed as needed whenever the horse sweats, regularly, or before, during, and after competition. Its palatable formula can be given in drinking water, optionally with a handful of chaff or soaked beet pulp, or mixed into wet (sloppy) feed.

Horses that may particularly benefit from consistent electrolyte supplementation include those that sweat heavily and frequently, those prone to tying up, and those working in hot or humid environments.

Feeding Recommendations:

• Administer in drinking water for best absorption: mix two measures (30g) per litre of water.
• Offer one litre of electrolyte solution for every 20 minutes of actual sweating (exercise, competition, travel, or stress), preferably within one hour of sweating.
• Introduce gradually if the horse is unfamiliar with electrolytes in water—always provide an alternative fresh water source.
• If the horse refuses electrolyte water, feed two measures (30g) per 20 minutes of sweating in sloppy feed and ensure constant access to fresh drinking water.
• Do not administer electrolytes with insufficient water intake, as this may increase dehydration risk.
• May be given up to four hours before work to “pre-load” the system with ions for replenishment during sweating.
