It’s safe to say that horse riding safety equipment has come on leaps and bounds over the last decade. Your favourite safety brands like Racesafe and Charles Owen are developing products like never before with rigorous testing and investments into every part of the development process.

Body Protectors

From 1st January 2024, Body Protectors meeting the 2009 BETA standard will no longer be legal for British Eventing, British Riding Club and Pony Club events. However, do not fret if you are a leisure rider as you can still continue to wear your body protector at home.

If you are wishing to compete in any of the activities stated above, your body protector will need to conform to the BETA 2018 standard. This can be found on the labelling
