What is Eventing?
British Eventing is Great Britain’s governing body for the equestrian sport in which a single horse and rider combination partake in three disciplines; Dressage, Showjumping and Cross Country. This event operates in either a one-day format where combinations complete all three phases one after another, or in a three-day format, in which each discipline has its own day.
Three-day eventing is most common amongst the top levels of the sport where combinations face the ultimate test of endurance and partnership to complete intricate dressage tests and gruelling cross-country tracks. There are various levels of British eventing, ranging from BE80, the introductory level of the sport, to International competition, where the most advanced horses and riders compete.
